The Belgium NGO, Iles de Paix, conducted a project in east Burkina Faso with the Burkanese NGO, ARFA (Association pour la recherche et la formation en agroécologie) to improve agricultural production through soil fertility management.
It involved implementing the agroecology principles of soil health, a key element needed to increase the resilience of farming families and their crops.
This report presents the knowledge learned through this hands-on experience. It shows the strong interconnections that exist between soil health and other agroecology principles, particularly the principles of the co-building of knowledge, synergies and even economic diversification.
