With the 10 FAO Elements of Agroecology and the 13 principles of Agroecology taken up by the High Level Panel of Experts on Food Security and Nutrition (HLPE), there appears to be broad consensus today on the importance of rethinking how knowledge is obtained and shared, and of making the process of transitioning to agroecology a participatory one.

On paper, these principles seem pretty clear, but in practice they are still an issue and a challenge. How to translate these into development actions?

In Western Uganda, Iles de Paix has chosen to framedraw its intervention on two complimentary methodologic approaches: the “Integrated Farmer Plan”  (IFP)) and “Participatory Research-Action” (PRA)).
